Inspection and Testing Center
The Inspection and Testing Center is located in the new plant area of Huanglong Industrial Zone, Wuyi and covers an area of more than 12,000 square meters where the Analysis and Test Center occupies 2,380 square meters. By now, nine sci-tech innovation platforms headed by a team of provincial-level academicians and experts have been put into place.
The Center boasts a team of top-class professional technicians and intermediate and senior professional technicians, including three academicians, one member of the Special Support Program for High-level Personnel Recruitment, one member of the Recruitment Program of Global Talents of Zhejiang province, an innovation team of more than 20 members and a R&D team of more than 80 members. The Center focuses on a variety of fields including agronomy, biology, genetics, pharmacy and nutrition and has come into long-term strategic cooperation relationship with a number of domestic and foreign institutions of higher education and scientific research institutions, including China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Center Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd., Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Science, 302 Military Hospital of China, East China Normal University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Wroclaw Medical College Abroad, Mayo Clinic and Precision Medecine Plateforme Europe. In addition to a top-class management team, the Center has developed a complete set of management mode meeting the development needs of ShouXianGu and thus provides a guarantee for the successful realization of industrialization.
The Center is equipped with a total of 15 technical function rooms, including the Molecular Biology Lab, Heavy Metal Detection Lab, Gas Chromatography Lab, HPLC Lab, Stability Lab, Complex Lab, Pretreatment Lab, High Temperature Lab, Physical & Chemical Lab, Purification Lab, Extraction & Concentration Lab, Sample Collection Lab, Cool Sample Storage Lab, Room Temperature Sample Storage Lab and Reagent Lab.
The Molecular Biology Lab
The Molecular Biology Lab focuses on the identification of varieties, the study of genetic relationship and specificity, molecular marker-assisted breeding and other DNA molecular evaluation and analysis. At present, the Lab is mainly engaged in the representative ecological adaptability evaluation of collected germplasm resources and the analysis of key characteristics and biological characteristics, such as the growth and decline law of effective component contents, yield characteristics, disease and insect resistance characteristics, stress resistance, etc.
Besides, the Lab analyzes the genetic diversity and genetic relationship of different germplasm resources through molecular marker technology and aims to put into place a scientific and reasonable evaluation system of dendrobium officinale stem germplasm resources. The Lab also works to screen ecologically adaptable, high-yielding, superior and multi-resistant breeding materials and breed varieties with improved comprehensive characteristics; Further, the Lab studies molecular identification of dendrobium officinale stem DNA bar code and specific DNA sequence and has developed a new technology to quickly and accurately identify genuine dendrobium officinale stem through tracing the genetic characteristic differences of dendrobium officinale stem from the level of DNA molecular biology.The Heavy Metal Detection Lab
The Heavy Metal Detection Lab is mainly used to detect heavy metals in raw and auxiliary materials, intermediate products, finished products, etc. The Lab can detect chromium, nickel, copper, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead, etc.The Gas Chromatography Lab
The Gas Chromatography Lab focuses on the detection of pesticide residues in raw and auxiliary materials, intermediate products, finished products and traditional Chinese medicinal materials planted in the base. It can detect pesticide residues in as many as 199 varieties of products.
The HPLC Lab
The HPLC Lab mainly carries out R&D experiments and detects contents of original medicinal materials, intermediate products and finished products of the company. At the present, the Lab is making efforts to optimize the extraction and separation technology system of effective and index components of dendrobium officinale stem;
to establish corresponding fingerprinting chromatography and put into place a quality evaluation system based on the effective and index components of dendrobium officinale stem; to extract and separate relevant components, establish a corresponding fingerprinting chromatography and use it to analyze differences of different varieties and find a quick fingerprint detection method for raw materials and related preparations.
The Stability Lab is mainly used for carrying out long-term stability test, accelerated stability test and influence factor (light intensity, etc.) test of samples.
The Physical & Chemical Lab and the Purification Lab
The Physical & Chemical Lab and the Purification Lab are used to detect sample impurities, peroxide value, leachables, sulfur dioxide residues, volatile oil, loss on drying, PH value, conductivity, microwave digester, pure water/ultra pure water, etc.
The Complex Lab is mainly used to detect the broken rate of G Spore Powder of Ganoderma Lucidum (broken wall) and the microscopic identification of original medicinal materials; to carry out thin-layer identification experiment and automatic sampling of original medicinal materials; to detect contents of polysaccharides, triterpenoids, saponins and other active components in the samples.Scientific Research Achievements
1.Improved varieties at the leading level at home, including "Xianhu 3" Dendrobium Officinale Stem, "Xianzhi 2" Ganoderma Lucidum and "Panhong 1" Saffron;
2.A new technique of inducing fast seedling reproduction with stems and leaves of fresh dendrobium officinale stem.
Traditionally, the dendrobium officinale stem seedlings are mainly bred through the tip and stem tip induction technology, but this technology consumes a large amount of raw materials and has poor reproduction rate but high cost.
The Inspection and Testing Center will employ all strengths to foster a great batch of professional technicians, try best to develop into a leading scientific research, industrialization and talent cultivation base in the relevant fields at home and become China's No.1 and globally top-class center. For example, the Center will intensify cooperation with institutions of higher education and scientific research institutions, including China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zhejiang TCM Industry Association and Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Science.
