For the purpose of helping needy students realize their college dream, the Wuyi Charity Federation-Zhejiang ShouXianGu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. “Realize Their College Dream” Student Subsidies Grant Ceremony was held in the headquarters of ShouXianGu on September 8.

This heart-warming moment was witnessed by over 30 persons including SHEN Chaohua, president of Wuyi Charity Federation, ZHANG Shuhua, the federation’s secretary general, XU Zhengping, the federation’s deputy secretary general, LI Mingyan, chairman of ShouXianGu, XU Zigui, CEO of ShouXianGu, as well as some freshmen of universities and their parents, journalists and service personnel.

Give back to the society with charity care. ShouXianGu has been leading in health industry. As its chairman, LI Mingyan is willing to help the needy and cultivate talents. He donated RMB 1 million Yuan in 2018 to set up ShouXianGu Charity Fund. A portion of the donation has been specially used for the “Realize Their College Dream” charity project to help economically deprived students get through tough times and realize their college dream.

At the ceremony, the promotion video of ShouXianGu was played and ShouXianGu’s CEO XU Zigui gave a brief introduction of the company’s hundred-year history, its innovations and pioneering works, allowing the participants to have a rational and comprehensive understanding of this China Time-Honored Brand, national high-tech enterprise, leading drafter of the two international standards—the Traditional Chinese Medicine - Ganoderma Lucidum Fruiting Body and the Traditional Chinese Medicine - Dendrobium Officinale.

Chairman LI Mingyan then handed out the loving red envelopes to the 10 aided students or parents, and cordially congratulated them.

“ZOU Yubin’s father said sentimentally in his speech as a representative of aided students’ parents, “My youngest son, suffering from leukemia, has been treated in Zhejiang Child Healthcare Hospital. His mother has no job because she has to take care of him. I, alone, have to bear the heavy burden of making ends meet for my family. Our eldest son has been admitted to Zhejiang University this year, living up to our expectation. But his tuition and living expenses had become problems to us.

Luckily, we have gone through the difficult time by virtue of the donations and care from ShouXianGu and Wuyi Charity Federation, which are so heart-warming that we become more positive about our life. I, on behalf of my family, would like to express my sincere gratitude to ShouXianGu and Wuyi Charity Federation. Thank you for your assistance, because of which our child can study harder in college without worrying about the financial burden of our family.

When my child enters college, I will always teach him to study hard, and be one who has a devotion to the country, the people and the society. He will give back to the society, benefit our hometown, and contribute to the motherland!”

The speech was greeted with sincere blessings and encouragement in tumultuous applause.

After that, PAN Shuli gave a speech as a representative of the aided students. On behalf of all the students, she expressed heartfelt thanks to ShouXianGu and Wuyi Charity Federation for their aids, saying “ShouXianGu and Wuyi Charity Federation have selflessly helped us so that we can overcome difficulties and brave new challenges.

We now have embarked on a new trip and will have a wonderful life in the future. We will never forget your kindness and encouragement to us today. We will repay the care from the society with excellent results achieved with assiduity and repay our parents through actual deeds. After we finish college, we will contribute more to our hometown and our country.”

PAN Shuli’ speech, brimming with optimism, drew bursts of applause.

LI Mingyan, Chairman of ShouXianGu, first congratulated the students for being admitted to universities of their choice, and shared his struggles when he was a student and his reflections on life. He said that difficulties motivate people to move forward and only by constantly conquering difficulties can we achieve greater goals.

The period of life in college is very important for students because in this period they lay the foundation for their future career. We need to have different goals in different stages of life. In college, it is necessary to define our goals and work hard for them, defeat the immediate hardships, and constantly make breakthroughs and beat challenges.

The future of the country depends on you. You need to study hard, and, more importantly, be one who has ideals, abides by the law, shows filial respect for his/her parents, cares for others, and has ardent love for the motherland. You are expected to become a talented person who contributes to the hometown and the country.”

SHEN Chaohua, president of Wuyi Charity Federation, made a concluding speech. His hope is that the aided students could become good students excellent both in conduct and learning. His speech involves three aspects:

Congratulations. Mr. SHEN congratulated all the students first for being able to get over obstacles and get admitted to a good university through their own endeavors, and then for the support and care given by ShouXianGu when they were worrying about tuition and living expenses.

 

Gratitude. Mr. SHEN hopes that they will be grateful and give back to the society. They are expected to keep in mind the selfless dedication of the society and ShouXianGu, cherish their college life, study assiduously with the support of the society’s care and love, have a strong thirst for knowledge, be up-and-coming, and become knowledgeable and talented persons. They will achieve greater levels of self-actualization by serving the motherland, repaying the society, contributing to their hometown, and helping others.

Hope. Mr. SHEN hopes the students will spread the love, be strong against difficulties in life, actively participate in charity activities, help others, and bring positive energy to the society.

The students collectively signed a letter of commitment after the meeting, promising to cherish learning opportunities, be firmly resolved to succeed, strive for excellence, become talented persons who will benefit the society and the country, and spread the love.

An excellent enterprise creates wealth for the society, is responsible and ardent in promoting public good, and, above all, has conscience and is righteous and grateful. Over the years, ShouXianGu has not forgotten to return to the society while growing rapidly. It has actively devoted itself to public welfare within its capacity, planned and participated in the entrepreneurs’ health care program and the Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Initiative, and initiated the ShouXianGu’s public welfare action for students with tumor, etc., constantly giving back to the society through actual deeds.

Since the start of the “Realize Their College Dream” project in 2018, ShouXianGu has provided assistance to more than 30 students who are in poor families and have excellent character and academic performance. The activity will continue so as to muster more financial support for education, bring positive energy to the society, encourage more people to promote public good, help more needy people and play a part in charity and public welfare.
