XU Jing, border member and Deputy General Manager of ShouXianGu, was selected as a finalist of The Third Jinhua Sci-Tech Wushang Awards, with the theme of “Innovation-driven development in high quality”, along with other 14 entrepreneurs. XU won Sci-Tech Wushang Award, becoming the youngest prizewinner among the finalists.

This two-month event, starting in early September, was hosted by Jinhua Science and Technology Office, Leading Group Office for Talents of Jinhua Municipal Party Committee, Jinhua Federation of Industry and Commerce, Jinhua Administration for Market Regulation, and Jinhua Taxation Administration affiliated to the State Taxation Administration, and undertaken by Jinhua Radio and Television Station. 

The jury consisted of experts, initiators, and directors of related departments. 20 candidates were selected by the jury out of all the applicants. They were then briefly introduced on Infinite Jinhua, an app launched by Jinhua TV Station, ready for a public vote. 15 out of the 20 candidates topped the poll became the finalists.

The 15 candidates were divided into five groups—3 candidates each group—according to the category their belonged to. Each group had its own video played on the scene, introducing who they were and what achievements they’d made. Then the candidates were interviewed by the host and asked and judged by the experts. 

After that, the audience voted according to how they behaved. 10 winners of Sci-Tech Wushang Award and 5 winners of Outstanding Award were then selected according to the final ranking. Intense and exciting, the event was filled with the sense of “science and technology”, bringing us into a world full of novelty and allowing us to feel the huge energy and charm of scientific talents.

A group of cute robots with cool appearance wiggled to the music at the beginning, which not only filled the event with energy and vital force but showed us how technology could make our life more intelligent and fantastic.

Tech talents, excellent and passionate, showed themselves during the event. They greet the new era and steer the future during reform with new thinking, which makes them the dynamic of China’s prosperous development. XU Jing is just one of those excellent talents.

The Quality R&D Director of ShouXianGu, XU focuses on matters related to traditional Chinese medicinal herbs and edible medicinal fungi, including management of planting and production, quality control, establishment of standards, breeding of new varieties, product development, and project management.

XU is the one who bred Xianzhi-2, a new variety of Ganoderma lucidum which took Xianzhi-1 as the parent and has passed Zhejiang Non-Staple Crop Variety Certification.

 During the past years he has taken the lead in the establishment of Processing Standards for Ganoderma Lucidum Spore Shredded Herbs Ready for Decoction in Zhejiang, played a positive role in the establishment of Technical Regulations for Dendrobium officinale kimura et migo, and got involved in the research of the world-leading intensive processing technology of spore powder of Ganoderma lucidum. 

The honors he has earned in recent years include a second prize for scientific and technological invention and a second prize for scientific and technological progress of Zhejiang Science and Technology Awards, Zhejiang Standards Innovation Contribution Award, and 10 patents for invention. All those scientific innovation and technological breakthrough he has made keep helping ShouXianGu make great achievements in the innovation of traditional Chinese medicine technology and injecting vitality into the development of our enterprise.
When being asked by the host to share his experience and thinking he got in the field of scientific innovation, XU said that ShouXianGu, a China Time-Honored Band with a hundred years of history and a national high-tech enterprise sticking to the ancestral instruction of “Seek good medicine with great virtue, benefit the people with sincere kindness” led by president LI Mingyan, has kept pursuing scientific innovation, establishing a full set of industrial chain of TCM herb, making innovation in the field of precious, rare TCM herb, including Ganoderma lucidum, Dendrobium officinale stem, and Crocus Sativus, and working on long-term technological challenges on Ganoderma lucidum cell wall breaking/removal technology, which directs ShouXianGu to the field of the cell removal technology of spore powder of Ganoderma lucidum.
